ORIGIN: Found in Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, Burundi, Central African Republic, Cameroon, Congo, Zaire, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Transval, Mauritius, Madagascar, Reuinion, Assam, Eastern Himalayas, India, Nepal, Western Himalayas, Sikkim, Thailand, Vietnam, Java, Sumatra, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Queensland Australia, Samoa and Vanuatu in grasslands at elevations of sea-level to 1500 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with circular to kidney-shaped; to 7 blunt angled, shortly pubescent above, grooved petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, 1.6 [3.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with 2 basal sheaths and linear, concave, acute floral bracts .
