ORIGIN: Found in China, the Ryukyu Islands, Taiwan, Assam, Bangladesh, eastern Himalayas, India, Sri Lanka, Andaman Islands, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Nicobar Islands, Vietnam, Borneo, Java, Lesser Sunda Islands, Moluccas, the Philippines, Sulawesi, Sumatra, Christmas Islands, Bismark Islands, New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Samoa, Santa Cruz Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Caroline Islands and the Mariana Islands as a giant sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial occurring at elevations of sea-level to 2000 meters.

DESCRIPTION: A giant sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial occurring at elevations of sea-level to 2000 meters in lowland to tropical montane forests on limestone in deep shade with plicate, lanceolate to ovate-elliptic, acuminate leaves and blooms in the summer on a drooping, up to 6 [15 cm] long, 2 to 9 flowered, branched inflorescence hidden in leaf sheaths with ovate to lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts carrying a few to many [70], fragrant [early evening] flowers.
