Saccolabium griffithii is an orchid species identified by C.S.P.Parish & Rchb.f. in 1874. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Microsaccus griffithii.
ORIGIN: Found in Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Java, Sumatra and the Philippines in lowland open forests at elevations of [sea-level] 500 to 2000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with an occasionally branching stem carrying, arranged in two rows, distichous, imbricating, laterally flattened, mottled, fleshy, ovate, obtuse that sometimes are minutely and unequally bilobed apically leaves and a monopodial stem that blooms in the summer and fall from the axils of the leaves with a very short, 2 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute floral bracts. This species requires high humidity and frequent waterings.
