ORIGIN: Found as a miniature sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte at elevations of sea-level to 1500 meters in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama, French Guiana, Surinam, Guyana and Venezuela in disturbed evergreen forests and on riverbanks.
DESCRIPTION: Found as a miniature sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte at elevations of sea-level to 1500 meters in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama, French Guiana, Surinam, Guyana and Venezuela in disturbed evergreen forests and on riverbanks and has very short ramicauls enveloped basally by several scarious sheaths and carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, obovate, elliptic-oblong or oblanceolate, obtuse or retuse apically, purple underneath, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate base leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on a thread-like, warty, to 2 [5 cm] long, 1 to 2 flowered, filiform, fractiflex inflorescence that holds the flower even with the length of the leaves.
