ORIGIN: Found in Assam, Bangladesh, eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Borneo, Java, Lesser Sunda Islands, Moluccas, the Philippines, Sulawesi and Sumatra in lowland, hill and lower montane forests forests at elevations of 500 to 1500 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature to small sized, pendant, warm to cool growing epiphyte with an unbranched stem carrying 4 to 17, linear-oblong to lanceolate, oblique, 2 lobed, sessile jointed leaves that blooms in the spring on 1 to 4, axillary, pendant, glabrous, .6 to 3 [1.5 to 7.8 cm] long, successively 5 at once, many flowered inflorescence enveloped basally by 1 to 4, small sheaths and the rachis is dilated with winged nodes and scale like floral bracts all carrying resupinate, fragrant, short-lived flowers.
