ORIGIN: Found in Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina.

DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with 5, basal leaves that are not present at blooming, giving rise to a terminal, thin, erect, glabrous above stem enveloped by 8, acuminate sheaths that blooms in the fall on an erect, 4 [10 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence.
