ORIGIN: Found in the Moluccas, New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Fiji, New Caledonia, Samoa, Santa Cruz and Vanuatu in cloud forests at elevations of 580 to 1700 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium to large sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with clustered, inconspicuous pseudobulbs hidden by the leaf bases of the 4 to 6, plicate, lanceolate, acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring through fall on a lateral, from the base of the pseudobulb, erect, peduncle 7.2 to 8.6 [18 to 21 cm] long, rachis 2.4 to 2.8 [6 to 7 cm] long, overall 14 to 26 [35 to 65 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with deciduous, lanceolate, acuminate bracts and drooping flowers.
