ORIGIN: Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in high open grasslands and damp woods at elevations of 2000 to 3100 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Large sized, cool to cold growing lithophyte, terrestrial or occasional epiphyte with flattened, tapering to the apex pseudobulbs without spines at leaf-fall and carrying plicaet, ribbed, narrowly elliptic, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, to 3'4 [1 meter] long, single flowered inflorescence with flowers that do not have a fragrance.
