ORIGIN: Found in Jamaica from the lowlands at elevations of sea-level to 300 meters or more.

DESCRIPTION: Miniature sized, hot to cool growing, equitant epiphyte with tufts of 4 or more, triquetrous, sharp edged, linear-ligulate, sulcate leaves arranged in a fan that blooms in the summer on a erect, dark purple, to 2' [30 to 60 cm] long, racemose or sparsely branched, many successively flowered inflorescence. This species also prefers a cork mount in bright light with hot to cool temperatures and high humidity.
