ORIGIN: Found in western Ecuador at elevations around 1150 meters, often in orange trees.
DESCRIPTION: Large sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with up to 16 [40 cm] between each elongate-ovate, laterally compressed pseudobulb enveloped by 6 to 8, foliaceous sheaths and carrying 1 to 2, apical, erect, obovate, narrowly acute to acuminate, conduplicate below in to the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on an axillary, erect, wiry, to 8' [2 meters] long overall, peduncle to 16 [40 cm] long, paniculate, to 15 widely spaced, weakly flexuous, to 12 [30 cm] long, each, loosely several to many flowered branches, sometimes shortly rebranching, with adpressed, scale-like, acute bracts and carrying fragrant flowers.
