Trigonochilum umbonatum is an orchid species identified by (Rchb.f.) Königer & Schildh. in 1994. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Cyrtochilum umbonatum.
ORIGIN: Found in Napo Ecuador in scrub cloud forests at elevations of 2400 to 3000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Medium to large sized, cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial with 12 between each pseudobulb enveloped completely by imbricate, distichous sheaths with the uppermost being leaf-bearing and carrying linear-lanceolate, acute, becoming conduplicate below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on a very long, paniculate, many branched, fractiflex, 4 [10 cm] long, well spaced branches, many flowered inflorescence with widely spaced flowers.
