Tubella scabridula is an orchid species identified by (Rolfe) Archila in 2000. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Trichosalpinx scabridula.
ORIGIN: Found in Venezuela, Peru and Bolivia at elevations af 1900 to 3200 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Mini-miniature sized, prolific, cool to cold growing epiphyte with ascending, scandent, prolific, branching ramicauls enveloped completely by 2 to 4, minutely ciliate lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, often purplish, ascending, thickly coriaceous, elliptical to suborbicular, lens-shaped, obtuse to rounded apically broadly cuneate to rounded below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a filiform, .8 to 1.2 [2 to 3 cm] long, loose, subflexuous, distichous, simultaneously few flowered, racemose inflorescence arising from near the apex of the ramicaul.
