Vonroemeria tenuis is an orchid species identified by J.J.Sm. in 1910. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Octarrhena tenuis.
ORIGIN: Found in Sulawesi and New Guinea on trees or tree fern in hill in montane to subalpine forests at elevations of 2577 to 3500 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte or occasional terrestrial in moss cushions with erect, simple to branching, strongly flexuous, glabrous, terete stem carrying many towards the apex, erect, fleshy, warty, subulate but slightly laterally compressed towards the apex obtuse leaves that blooms in the later summer and fall on a glabrous, slender, slightly flexuous, .62 to .8 [1.6 to 2 cm] long, 3 to 5 flowered inflorescence with 2 to 3 tubular sheaths at the base and 2 more above, .
