ORIGIN: Found in Java, Borneo, Sumatra and the Philippines in lowlands, hill and montane forests at elevations of 300 to 1100 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Large sized, hot to warm growing, monopodial epiphyte, lithophyte or terrestrial with an elongate stem rooting at any point and sometimes making keikis below with imbricating, basally clasping, closely 2 ranked, blades turned outwards, entirely conduplicate leaves that blooms in the summer on an axillary, to 12 to 18" [30 to 45 cm +] long, 10 to 30 flowered, racemose inflorescence. The Plant gives the impression of being a squashed Vanda.
