ORIGIN: Found in Ecuador at elevations around 1000 to 2500 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with an erect slender ramicaul enveloped basally by a tubular sheath below the middle and 2 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, round, deeply cordate, acute, thick, sessile basally, coriaceous leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a fascile of successive single flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe and holding the flower close to the leaf base.
